Hi Everyone,
How does war impact people differently around the world? Tune in to our next free webinar on October 24 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (GMT minus 4), featuring three different global perspectives on war & militarism. RSVP here.
Our October 24 webinar will feature:
- David Swanson, Director of World BEYOND War, who will speak from the perspective of a resident in the United States, the world’s largest warmonger, and what it means to be an anti-war activist at a time when global opinion polls show that the U.S. is seen as the greatest threat to world peace.
- Kathy Kelly, Co-Coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, who will speak from the perspective of someone who has experienced war firsthand. Kathy has lived in active combat zones in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Haiti, Lebanon, Gaza, and Palestine.
- Barry Sweeney, World BEYOND War Ireland Coordinator, who will speak from the perspective of a resident of a less militaristic society, Ireland. How would people in Ireland react if half of their tax money was spent on war, as it is in the U.S.? Do Irish people feel that their country has any enemies? Despite being a less militaristic society, how does the Irish government facilitate U.S. warmongering?
Don’t miss this interesting conversation!
